I managed to find a Smart Card reader for on e-Bay from a W510 pull. I'm actually going to attempt to install this in the T520. The jack was ready to use, and I had to carve the stiffening ribs off of the underside of the palm rest and carefully carve the slot for the card. The smartcard reader can be used as an additional level of security, such that the user needs to put in his card (typically his badge), and provide a password. None of the models (other than custom) came with a smartcard reader but from reading the service manual it sounds like it can be easily installed. Does anyone know if this is correct? Any suggestions on where I can buy the compatible reader to install? Where can I download the latest Microsoft USBCCID Smartcard Reader (WUDF) driver for Windows 11 Pro from the official Windows site and safely? My version is from 2006.
